But it is nature, the lovely staff and the lovely architecture of the common area that makes this very small hotel (8 rooms I think). Set amidst the rice fields and jungle in front of a small lake wildlife abounds. We saw large lizards, wild buffalo, wild peacocks, chipmunks… in the grounds. The food ordered in the morning or on arrival for the evening is very good and they know about gluten and advised me accordingly. The villa type rooms are wonderful and very spacious and the outside bathrooms are a delight! The hotel is quite remote with lots of wildlife roaming the grounds which was wonderful to observe from our terrace. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent. There was a set menu each night but they were happy to 'tweak' this for us to accommodate our vegan requirements. This is amazing place . Rooms are fantastic . People working there are very well mannered . Food is so tasty and pure especially the taste ice cream had was matchless. Fruit juices seems like right from trees ♥️Will definitely come back for longer duration. This place was the heavan .

Food was good. The track to the hotel was in good condition (but once you’re there at the end of the day you’ll want to stay put). ☹ We didn’t realise (or forgot!) that it didn’t have an alcohol licence and because of holy days we couldn’t buy any. Great old fixtures and fittings. Very polite staff. 4 course dinners, and although choice somewhat limited, were well priced. Bungalow room was large and enigmatic. Seemed nearly full in our time there, mainly European clientele ☹ Not a fan of open air bathrooms when mosquitos are an issue. Western food options nowhere near as good as Sri Lankan food choices.
